Our partners and collaborations
U-center collaborates with various organizations both within and outside the mental healthcare sector. These partnerships focus on knowledge exchange, education and training, coordination of care, and supporting specific target groups. By working together with educational institutions, healthcare organizations, and international partners, we continue to learn and stay aligned with developments in the field.
Support and confidence in our treatment approach
U-center operates nationwide and collaborates with independent practitioners and mental healthcare institutions across the country. In the Limburg region, U-center is affiliated with the regional crisis service. U-center maintains strong partnerships with academic centers both within the region and beyond, including close collaboration with Rhino Zuid and other training institutes. In addition, U-center works with reputable initiatives such as 'Groene GGZ' .
Partnerships in education and professional development
A key part of our collaborations focuses on education, professional development, and training future professionals within the mental healthcare sector.
Rhino Zuid
U-center collaborates with Rhino Zuid as a training institute for the post-master’s programme in Healthcare Psychology (GZ-opleiding). Within this partnership, we also offer clinical placements for Healthcare Psychologists and Clinical Psychologists, where trainees gain valuable hands-on experience in an inpatient setting under close supervision.
Maastricht University
In collaboration with Maastricht University, U-center offers internships for master’s students in psychology. This enables them to apply their theoretical knowledge in practice under the expert supervision of our team, while working towards obtaining their Basic Certificate in Psychodiagnostics (BAPD).
Zuyd Hogeschool
For students of Zuyd University of Applied Sciences, we offer internships within our sociotherapy team for the Social Work and Nursing programmes. This allows them to gain valuable practical experience under the supervision of our experienced team.
Mondriaan GGZ
Staff members from Mondriaan GGZ are given the opportunity to gain practical experience with us as Nurses in Specialist Training (VIOS). This enables them to further develop their clinical skills within a safe and well-supervised learning environment.

Groene GGZ
U-center has been affiliated with Groene GGZ since mid-2025.
Through the ‘Groene GGZ’ initiative, Nature For Health and IVN Natuureducatie, as initiators, are building a green movement within mental healthcare together with a core group of mental health institutions from across the Netherlands, the Dutch Association of Mental Healthcare (de Nederlandse ggz), Buitenpsychologen, health insurer CZ, and VU Amsterdam.
Groene GGZ is committed to making mental healthcare more sustainable and to increasing awareness of the relationship between mental health and the living environment.
Healthcare for Internationals (H4i) Collaboration.
Healthcare for Internationals (H4i) is a non-profit network of and for organizations that want to better align Dutch healthcare with the needs and expectations of clients with an international background. H4i is a cooperative in which healthcare providers and other organizations that subscribe to its objectives can join. The network is formed by healthcare providers such as health centers, mental health providers and midwives. Other interested organizations can also join.
Many internationals experience psychological complaints. It is known that more than 50% of expats experience psychological complaints as a result of moving to another country. For U-center, as a treatment center for international clients among others, Healthcare for Internationals (H4i) is a great way to exchange knowledge and expertise and together expand and improve care in the Netherlands for these clients. We are committed to treating internationals/expats properly in their own language and with knowledge of these migration issues. We employ expats and knowledge migrants ourselves.
