The start of U-center
Since 2008, in a former hotel in the South Limburg town of Epen (near Maastricht), we have been accommodating clients with complex or multiple psychological problems.
We offer 6 weeks of inpatient treatment, followed by 8 weeks of outpatient follow-up treatment (when indicated). Our short and intensive approach, in a healing environment and with a short waiting time, is unique and effective.
How U-center began. Two entrepreneurs sought help for their loved ones. They had an alcohol addiction and personality problems. They tried Internet therapy, support groups, day treatment at a clinic. But everywhere they encountered long waiting lists and everything failed. The help was also not focused on several psychological problems at once.
In desperation, they reported to a German private clinic that was well versed in comorbidity. After a short and intensive therapy, they made a total turnaround and gradually regained control of their lives. From their enthusiasm about this success, the initiators decided to establish U-center. This way more people could benefit from this approach. But closer to home, so that family, friends or the employer could also be involved in the recovery process.
Hospitality as part of treatment
The founders bought a hotel in Epen. They also took over the hotel staff. 'Hospitality' is thus in our DNA. Thus, not only the treatment contributes to your recovery. But also the hospitality, service and beautiful, relaxing environment. As a client, you should feel safe and comfortable. We also believe in a holistic and multidisciplinary approach.

Organization
After the pioneering phase, U-center grew into a solid organization. The client council, management and supervisory board play an important role. In our clinic, in addition to Dutch clients, we also help English-speaking clients mainly from Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg.
Do you contact us? Then you will get a professional from the Communication Center in Driebergen on the line. That's where several support departments are located.
All our staff work according to the GGZ Quality Statute. This has been in the quality register of Zorginstituut Nederland as a professional standard since 2016. We are also NEN-EN 15224 certified. This means that we put safety first.

Treatment effect and results
The best treatment also requires scientific knowledge. Therefore, we measure treatment effects at different times with approved questionnaires, up to a year later. We also survey client satisfaction in various ways.
Over three-quarters of our clients already recover during admission. This is a very high percentage in mental health care. Also, a much smaller number of clients relapse with us.
