The most well-known treatment for PTSD is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). During EMDR treatment, you recall the traumatic event or events under the guidance of a practitioner. Using certain stimuli, such as sounds, tapping your knees or via lights from an EMDR lamp, you get to work on processing this event. Check out this page on trauma treatment to read more about how an EMDR session works.
You may find that brief outpatient treatment is sufficient. Does this have no or insufficient effect? If so, you may benefit more from inpatient treatment. At U-center you follow different types of ptsd treatment to recover from your trauma. Your treatment consists of a 6-week inpatient stay followed by an 8-week outpatient stay at home.
U-center's clinic is located in the middle of the Limburg hills in Epen. The treatment center is equipped with a comfortable lounge, restaurant, gym, sauna and swimming pool. You stay during the 6-week treatment in your own room with private bathroom. Treatments take place in the various treatment rooms and group rooms.
During inpatient treatment, you are away from your own environment. This allows you to fully focus on your recovery and you are not distracted by your daily activities. This ensures that you can make strides toward your recovery from PTSD in a short period of time.
Undergoing 6 weeks of intensive treatment means paying close attention to a comfortable stay. For example, the cooks in the kitchen make fresh food for you daily, and the support staff makes sure you are completely comfortable.
You may be dealing with other mental health symptoms or diagnoses in addition to trauma. In addition to PTSD, you may also have depression or an addiction. During treatment at U-center, we take all of these diagnoses into account and you work on them simultaneously.
